It is the responsibility of the Director of Facilities is to oversee all maintenance operations to maintain the facilities and equipment at the highest level of efficiency. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the facilities department work follows, safety standards, conforms to specifications, and work orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline maintenance staff as necessary while maintaining compliance with company policy, practices and procedures.
- Develops maintenance policy and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
- Develop and coordinate implementation of procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations as it relates to safety, fire, and building codes.
- Possess thorough knowledge of operation; maintenance and repair of boilers; electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems; plumbing and mechanical equipment.
- Monitors staffing levels in accordance with business needs.
- Oversees and manages sub-contracted projects.
- Maintains and oversee purchasing and parts inventories.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Strong decision making, analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills, and ability to develop strong and sustainable working relationships throughout the organization.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Bachelorâs Degree in Project Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent education/work experience.
- At least Five (5) years of experience in management experience in Facilities Operations.
- Sound judgment and superior decision-making, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills; ability to meet prescribed deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work without direct supervision on assigned projects and tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal customers, employees, applicants and external legal counsel and with government agencies.
- Must have ability to work varied hours and shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays as workload and projects demand.
