The Director – Supply Chain will lead all Manufacturing Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, Distribution and Operation Service functions. The Director – Supply Chain drives a gracious customer experience by achieving corporate objectives for safety, quality, and desired service levels, while delivering financial and sustainability goals. Success in the position is measured through the achievement of key performance metrics in support of top line sales growth and profitability, including attainment of on-time delivery objectives, delivery cost management targets, inventory turns and gross margin return targets, and attainment of key manufacturing performance indicators.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment and instill safety as a value throughout the organization.
  • Create end-to-end supply chain strategy consistent with strategic and financial goals of the organization, and execute strategy to build and maintain performance credibility.
  • Establish, drive and own performance metrics required to drive operations, supply chain and overall Ann Sacks performance. Drive financial results through the active management of manufacturing variances, other manufacturing, warehouse & shipping, warranty and customer delivery costs.
  • Develop and control budgets and strategic plans related to the Ann Sacks supply chain, ensuring proper resources are in place to execute the overall business plan.
  • Ensure quality of all products shipped by the factory and warehouses to meet customer expectations according to established standards.
  • Drive performance of manufacturing operations, to include effective management of overall facility and process-specific capacity and efficiency, while driving continuous improvement of quality of finished goods.
  • Create and maintain a culture that embraces continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Co-own key annual processes such as standard cost, price increase, and product lifecycle management to enable organization to achieve strategic plan objectives.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and on-time delivery of all products shipped by the factory and warehouses.
  • Lead integrated business planning process, translating sales and channel forecasts into an operating plan to support the business strategy.
  • Ensure availability of product to meet sales goals per financial plan and in accordance with forecasts. Utilize product planning models for manufacturing and inventory management planning models for in-stock programs.
  • Balance inventory levels to support sales growth, service and turn goals, including product life cycle management.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure the correct balance of quality, delivery and lowest total cost; Supervise vendor performance to meet goals for quality, delivery accuracy, timeliness, completeness and cost minimization.
  • Oversee the delivery of operations support services, including the entry and updating of SAP master data; review, revision and documentation of operations processes; initiation and management of systems projects designed to drive operational effectiveness.
  • Develop associates to foster engagement, career development and improve business results. Key aspects of employee engagement and development include: providing ongoing development opportunities; giving consistent, meaningful and frank feedback, both on an ongoing basis and in formal performance reviews; ensure associates understand their connection to the overall mission and strategic plan through regular business updates; drive engagement through recognition and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive the achievement of operational and service objectives, including leveraging supply chain and logistics resources available through Kohler; partnership with the customer service function to ensure effective management of customer touch points and timely resolution of customer concerns; working closely with marketing to ensure new product launch and ongoing product lifecycle management achieve financial and operational targets.
  • Manage organizational sustainability initiatives aligned with Kohler Corporate standards and expectations.

Skills/Requirements

An ideal candidate for the Director – Supply Chain position will have the following:

  • Minimum educational requirement of Bachelor’s degree, with preference given to Operations Management, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics or other quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 10 years supply chain experience, with preference for at least five years in a management role in either sales & operations planning, procurement, manufacturing or distribution. C.P.M. or CPIM certification is preferred.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • RP experience required, with knowledge in SAP preferred.
