The opportunity:

The Director of Enterprise Core Systems primary responsibility is to oversee all business systems and related activities. This individual’s principal goals are to develop and manage Systems portfolios for each department and to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization. This includes leading the direction for ERP, HFM and other major business facing systems.

The Director’s role is to supervise and maintain the organization’s repository of software systems through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the user group on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.

The Director will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the systems department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The Director will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

  • Deliver well defined business requirements and functional specs to support system integration for Enterprise Systems
  • Partner with all business stakeholders to ensure all project, enhancements and support metrics are well defined and on target
  • Preform requirements analysis, systems analysis and design work, creating appropriate documentation for use in estimating and specifying project work
  • Communicate regularly with the business partners and IT to set priorities, communicate status, document issues, and manage expectations.
  • Effectively communicate throughout the organization from end-users through senior level
  • Work closely with the implementation managers to develop, test, and implement change requests

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure that Systems meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Review and analyze existing Systems effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of System-usage best practices.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Evaluate new Systems, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing Systems throughout the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and Systems.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new System under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.

Operational Management

  • Manage and provide direction for the System team in support of business operations.
  • Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
  • Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, hold clinics as necessary, and other user-related activities.
  • Develop, distribute, and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or Systems

What you need to succeed:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 12+ years ERP experience providing Enterprise ERP solutions – SAP and/or Oracle Proven ERP experience with major ERP platforms like Oracle Fusion and SAP S4 Hana (preferably in Finance area).
  • Certification in SAP and/or Oracle highly desired
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams
  • Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff, business stakeholders, end users, management and others outside the organization
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated with ability to drive projects
  • Experience estimating project costs
  • Experience in implementing and managing in ERP SaaS environments (Desired Skill)
