    NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue is America’s oldest public hospital, established in 1736. Bellevue is a Level I Trauma Center delivering around-the-clock care in adult, pediatric, psychiatric and pediatric psychiatric emergencies as well as in the nationally-designated categories of cardiology, neurology, toxicology, and neonatology. In addition to providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient state-of-the-art care Bellevue is a city-wide medical specialty referral source. Bellevue’s clinical centers of excellence include: Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care; Cardiovascular Services; Designated Regional Perinatal Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU); Comprehensive Children’s Psychiatric Emergency Program; and Cancer Services.

    Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Assistant Personnel Director will:

    • Manage the daily operations of the Compliance Unit of Human Resources
    • Serve as a member of the department leadership; participating in oversight of department and facility wide initiatives
    • Monitor and maintain data integrity; creating standard work to ensure accuracy
    • Manage compliance unit staff, and other Human Resources staff, as needed
    • Establish relationships with department stakeholders (Quality Management, Medical Staff Affairs, etc.)
    • Be well versed on current and changing Human Resources regulatory standards, ensuring all are met. Partnering with department leadership to identify and establish corrective measures, if necessary
    • Develop compliance reporting tools for facility leadership, ensuring reporting is accurate and consistent
    • Lead responses to regulatory events (Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, The Joint Commission, Department Of Health, etc.)
    • Make recommendations for facility trainings, conduct in-service trainings when needed
    • Oversight of Human Resources employee files, including but not limited to electronic conversion and retention
    • Other duties/projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

    1. A Master’s Degree with specialization in Personnel Management, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Psychology or Vocational Guidance, and two years of experience in personnel management or personnel administration in a large governmental agency, hospital or healthcare facility or civic organization or business firm employing at least three-hundred employees, one year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity; or,
    2. A Baccalaureate Degree issued from an accredited college or university, and three years of experience as indicated in (1), two years of which shall have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity. (Experience which consists solely of the maintenance of personnel transactions will not be accepted); or,
    3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
