Assistant Project Manager – Electrical Contracting
Salary Range: DOE
Summary/Objective
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the handling of construction documentation and assisting Construction Department Management Team with virtually any range of subjects related to electrical contracting and representing the company with clients, consultants and suppliers.
Essential Functions
- Oversees the scheduling, manpower and material purchases for the Service Department.
- Maintains correspondence and construction documentation database.
- Files correspondence and drawings.
- Handles incoming and outgoing project-related mail and deliveries.
- Receives/logs/expedites contractor submittals, requests for information, etc.
- Preparation and submission of project close-out documents.
- Makes applications for building permits.
- Assists with project bidding and change order compilations.
- Annotates drawings and specifications with revisions.
- Obtains proposals from material suppliers and subcontractors.
- Requisitions supplies, materials and equipment, as needed. Issues purchase orders for material and coordinates with Accounting Department on the processing of invoices.
- Assists Construction Management Team with all project and electrical contracting related matters.
- Represents Company in project-related issues with contractors, owners, architects, engineers, etc.
- Site visits of construction sites.

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in an office environment, utilizing standard office equipment. The employee is also regularly exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites.

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to hear. Frequent sitting, standing, bending (for filing), and occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds) is anticipated in this position. Specific vision abilities are required, as well as the frequent use of arms/hands.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma, or its equivalent.
- At least two years’ experience in a construction administration and/or construction environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree.
- Three to five years’ experience working in electrical construction administration and/or electrical construction environment.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Working knowledge of construction-related documents.
