The primary focus of the VP, CMC Strategy, LCM & Project and Portfolio Management for Cell Therapy is threefold: i) to provide guidance, mentorship and training to CMC team leaders, Technical Commercialization Team (TCT) leaders and members, ii) to ensure well integrated CMC strategies are developed, risks are identified and appropriately mitigated, and importantly, cross project/portfolio implications are effectively managed, and iii) to develop the right tools, processes, and infrastructure for our CMC and TCT teams to thrive. The incumbent will bring a combination of scientific expertise, CMC development and commercialization experience, and strategy and project management skills to support our teams and advance progression of the pipeline. The incumbent will report to the Head of Cell Therapy Development Operations (CTDO) and be a member of the CTDO leadership team.

We are looking for a proven leader with the breadth of professional experience, passion, drive and excellent collaboration and customer focus to define and implement his/her vision for this business critical function. Our projects are carried out via cross functional teams whether it is a CMC team, TCT, Technology transfer team, or Next generation technology development teams and supported by strong functional departments. The VP, CMC Strategy & Project and Portfolio Management is accountable for the vision, mission and execution of the TCT and CMC project teams and systems, to ensure TCT leaders, CMC leaders and Project Managers are developed to provide excellent team leadership and achieve efficient delivery of their deliverables within the requested time and cost, and that CMC product lifecycle plans and strategies are established. This includes ensuring the right infrastructure is in place with fit for purpose processes, governance, tools and templates to enable broad alignment across the functions, good portfolio analyses, project dashboards and data archives for effective communications and decision making across the organization. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the TCT and CMC project leaders to provide excellent team leadership, focusing on delivering innovative CMC and LCM strategies and reliable manufacturing processes and assays with urgency and within budgets. Manage CMC strategies, resources and overall project execution.
  • Develop appropriate governance and support effective CMC decision-making and communication of decisions or recommendations to corporate governance. As member of
leadership experience in CMC leading CMC (bioprocess, analytical, formulation, etc), Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, or Regulatory departments, preferably in the Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry.

  • MS/Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Engineering, and MBA (optional) are preferred.
