General Summary
Under limited supervision, organizes, directs and coordinates the work of Biomedical, Radiology, Bed Maintenance and Equipment Distribution Services. Help manage the Clinical Equipment Capital Program and works with Clinical Departments in planning their future equipment requirements at UMMC. Support Clinical Engineering management team at MC Midtown (MTC) and UM Rehabilitation
What You Need to Be Successful:
Education and Experience
Bachelorâs degree in Engineering or other related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of training, education and experience is required. Masterâs degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Seven years of relevant technical experience dealing with complex clinical equipment and clinical management experience. Five years of supervisory/management experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment and instrumentation is required.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as The Joint Commission, CMS, National Electrical Code and OSHA/MOSH, regarding operation and maintenance of medical and related equipment, and ability to apply such standards, is required.
Maintain awareness of developments in the Biomedical Engineering field.
Ability to manage 55 or more frontline staff, comprised of BMET, ISE, EQD or Bed technicians, in a medium-to-large medical center.
