Senior Director of EMEA & Asia Pacific Land Marketing

Senior Director of EMEA & Asia Pacific Land Marketing required by one of the world’s leading energy advisory companies and renowned Fortune 100 brand!

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer of World Fuel Services, with dotted lines to the SVP, EMEA Land Energy solutions, the Senior Director EMEA & Asia Pacific Land Marketing, will work closely with the commercial and sales leaders to deliver material organic growth and retention of profitable customers by 1) defining and supporting delivery of the go-to-market strategies and marketing plans for each established EMEA Region as well as new market entries; 2) transforming the way and the effectiveness the business markets its products and service capabilities via enhanced customer engagement tools and content, brand management, lead generation strategies and tactics and support of sales excellence best practices including customer discovery and pipeline analytics. The post holder will lead a small, geographically dispersed team.

Core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Commercial Strategy Development and Implementation: Partnering with the EMEA and Asia Pacific Land commercial leaders, to develop, champion and effectively execute commercial and go-to-market strategies in support of organic growth objectives for all businesses. The post holder will utilize a disciplined and forward looking view to understand the current market situation and trends, assess the attractiveness of new market or business/product entry, competitive and company points of difference and strengths and weaknesses, and customer and offer profitability.
  • Marketing plan development: The Senior Director is accountable for developing regional Marketing Plans aligned with the commercial participation and competitive strategy and that supports both in year and multi-year organic growth and retention goals. This plan is to be developed in conjunction with sales and business leaders so as to create a joint Sales & Marketing Plan with aligned objectives, quarterly milestones and campaigns and measures of success.
  • Offer Development: As a complement to the above, the Sr. Director Land Marketing is accountable for working with SMEs and Sales to identify target customers and identify gaps in product, customer experience and services offers and solutions, as well as making recommendation on how to address
  • Lead Generation: In addition to the strategic and planning roles mentioned above, this team will deliver value to the business via generation of Marketing Qualified and Sales Qualified Leads. Lead generation strategies should be addressed in the marketing and sales plan as well as tactically throughout the year to address sales pipeline shortfalls
  • Sales Excellence: Working in partnership with the Sales Enablement team and Sales leaders, support the change management process and journey to market vertical and solution selling.
  • Marketing Communications: Working in partnership with the Corporate Marketing Team, the Sr. Director Marketing, will oversee the development and execution of customer communication strategies and plans including content development, integrated campaign design and ROI tracking, brand management and channel placement covering web, social, tradeshows, sales events, sales sprints and e-mail marketing campaigns.
  • Customer Experience and Brand: Input into brand positioning and support Global and local implementation of the Branded Customer Experience vision and roadmap.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of marketing specialists.

The Individual

  • The successful candidate is likely to have in excess of 10 years’ of B2B marketing experience with experience gained as a Marketing Director within the land fuels distribution market or energy advisory management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the commercial and industrial industry verticals and energy management solutions available to these customer groups is essential.
  • The ability to develop a marketing strategy & plan that underpins annual and multi- year organic growth targets for multiple commercial business lines is essential.
  • Great understanding of marketing excellence is essential: activity sets market analysis/research, customer/prospect profiling, segmentation, lead generation
  • Integrated campaign development is essential: planning, lead in execution, measurement
  • Deep understanding of and experience in different marketing channels is essential: print, digital, direct, event, social, content marketing etc.
  • Brand Management for both external and internal viewpoints is essential.
  • Understanding of CRM tools is essential
  • Winning customer & prospect value proposition development is essential
  • Insight on best practice market research and data analysis is essential
  • Deep understanding of market verticals is essential, including external and internal drivers affecting the market
