ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Estimating

Pursue new accounts

Track active leads and report and the outcome

Perform estimates and detailed takeoffs by:

Attending job site meetings

Understand and execute plan/blueprint takeoff, layout & design,

Review and understand project scope and specifications, including but not limited to marking plans, checking and highlighting items taken off.

Review project preliminary requirements and project tracking updates for project data from project or plan source.

Enter required item notes for each item * Note any alternatives to specifications *

Prepare bid proposals and submit to customer

Must understand the underlying bidding conventions and initiate those successfully.

Negotiation of completed estimates to acquire new projects for present and backlog work

Experience coordinating jobs up to $300,000

Project Management

Schedule project including manpower, materials and subcontractors

Must coordinate pre and post construction meetings and prepare Company checklists

Prepare and submit to client document for job, including contracts and Right to Lien notices. Ensure signed copies are received.

Order, organize and generate submittals, RFI’s

Coordinate project start-up with field personnel

Coordinate the pulling of permits, provide drawings when required.

Manage subcontractors, issue purchase orders for project

Meet with Purchasing Agent to coordinate purchasing of materials and equipment.

Create sub-contractor change order log and handle paperwork for changes to sub-contracts

Coordinate project closeout documents

Actively manage labor and make site visits regularly, review timesheets for accuracy.

Obtain job notes/daily logs from field personnel

Communicate with customers and coordinate walk thru if job is in excess of two weeks.

Inspect installations to insure that work is being installed per company standards

Track and analyze performance; initiate corrective action when necessary

O&M Manuals and Commissioning

Professional and Technical Knowledge

Regularly meeting with key supplier representatives in regards to new products and technology

Stays current trends in the industry through professional publications educational workshops; trade shows and professional networks.

Must obtain continuing education as necessary to stay current on trends and practices

Integrates best practices into estimating and project management

Must have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in the plumbing

Must have technical knowlege of plumbing concepts and code.

Coordination with Accounting and Administration

Must have sufficient knowledge to analyze and determine financial progress on job, forecast completion.

Review and analyze costs for accuracy

Resolve any discrepancies that exist and submit to accounting for correction

Provide timely and accurate progress or final to accounts receivable for preparation.

Must have the ability to determine communicate timely and effectively to management regarding the progress of jobs.

Maintains detailed and accurate records
