About the job
The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.
The role is part of the broader Go-to-Market (GTM) Global Strategy and Operations team. The team engages on projects and work streams that impact multiple areas of Google’s business. We are integral partners to our counterparts embedded within business lines and to executives across Google’s business organization. We are focused on delivering insights and impact throughout our work.
As the Head of GTM for Policy, you’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Trust and Safety, Communications and Compliance teams to help land new/changes to policy and oversee evaluation and support of existing policy within the Global Business Organization (GBO). You’ll be the GBO representative in Google cross-functional policy forums, representing the business point of view – the first point of entry for all information to flow to the business teams, as well as the official channel of feedback from the business organization back to the teams that shape policy decisions and implementation.
You are highly experienced at structuring ambiguous problems, leading analytical work streams, applying sound business judgment, influencing stakeholders and communicating complex issues effectively. In doing so, you’ll manage a team within GTM, collaborate with counterparts in the various business lines and present to executives within Google more broadly. You tolerate ambiguity and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight.
The Global Business Strategy (GBS) team helps make Google’s complex business organization run smoothly. The group drives core planning activities and develops frameworks to integrate global business strategies across the Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships organizations. Experts in both Google’s go to market organization and the industries where we compete, they drive strategic and operational improvements while working closely with Senior Leadership on a range of critical initiatives and projects. The GBS team is at the forefront of addressing the Business organization’s most strategic priorities, reporting and working directly for Google’s Chief Business Officer.
