About the Job:

Samasource is looking to hire our Head of Finance to help secure additional funding, scale global financial planning, and resourcefully partner with our international accounting team.

This is a strategic leadership role -a true business partner- wherein you will lend your financial expertise to our well-rounded and incredibly grounded executive leadership team. This investor-facing role will be responsible for securing Series A/B/C capital, as well as the hands-on FP&A leadership as our unique, impact-oriented tech company grows from $50M to $100M+.

Reporting to the COO, the Head of Finance will partner with fellow Samasource executive team members to lead our company as the head financial advisor.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the financial expert and a key business leader in all funding pursuits, ensuring investors have what they need to successfully fund Samasource’s aggressive growth objectives.
  • Assume ownership for the company’s finances – including planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting.

    • Regular updates and adjustments to the financial model and communication of key elements to the management team.
    • The quarterly/annual budgeting and planning process, as well as long-range financial planning. Plan for the downside and find opportunities for the upside.
    • Completing monthly/quarterly budget vs. actual variance analysis and drive accountability across the company.
  • Oversee external firms (accounting/tax/audit) and ensure accuracy and timeliness of the monthly accounting close process.
  • Communicate and present financial results to relevant audiences including company updates, investor updates, board updates and materials.
  • Lead strategic analysis of major initiatives and products to assess ROI, Payback Period, etc. Evaluate the risks/rewards and provide the data to enable better business decisions.
  • Advise on compensation strategy including equity and bonus planning.
  • Optimize cash flow and handle treasury management.
  • Assist the sales cycle on price negotiations with large enterprise customers.
  • Streamline the billing process, including selection of financial systems that will support billing and financial operations.
  • Build and develop the Finance and Accounting Team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience with the most recent 3-5 years, leading across FP&A for a $30-100M growth-oriented, tech company.
  • Previously raised Series A/B VC financing.
  • Experience at a venture-backed SaaS company (ideally post Series B), with Sr. Dir./VP responsibility for financial planning, analysis, accounting, and audited financials & fluent in SaaS metrics.
  • Track record as a trusted advisor and business partner – driving business insights, actions, and accountability across departments with a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Exhibits strong written and oral communication skills and can influence across the organization. You inspire confidence and can garner support for strategic initiatives.
  • Adept at change management, defining new processes and creative, international problem solving.
  • Experienced in developing and presenting business plans, models, and financial forecasts to management and the investment community.
  • Able to select and implement billing and ERP systems.
