Working as the Life Safety Manager you will oversee the operations of fire alarms, fire suppression, fire extinguishers, generators, building automation and elevators. You will coordinate with maintenance, custodial and grounds personnel to complete tasks that require collaboration to complete while ensuring all work is completed to SSC Standards and life safety regulations. This includes internally and externally including subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
- Provides weekly reports to the Unit Director that encompass completed tasks/project status for the week and what future tasks/projects are planned for the upcoming week
- Manage the supplies budget and subcontractor use to remain within allotted budget
- Review and test all elevators to ensure completed compliance to include certifications are up to date
- Maintain all generators per code requirement. Keep generator logbooks up to date and current
- Provide internal audits that will be completed in the current week and that are scheduled for the upcoming week
- Communicate with the Unit Director issues that may arise and require campus personnel to become involved
- Practice and communicate health and safety requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent
- 2 years trade school or on the job related experience
- Valid driver’s license
