The Director, Operations Experience, provides Six Sigma methodologies across the organization to reduce cost and ensure store efficiencies. Requires the ability to support and lead business processes improvements and formulate recommendations related to the company’s business transformation strategy. Position reports to the VP of Store Support.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Operations Support team to modify, simplify, and eliminate workload inefficiencies to improve the organization’s operational processes.
  • Aids in business transformation by performing analyses and providing recommendations for process improvements that result in reduction of expenses and increased revenues.
  • Partners and engages with various departments, including Store Support Center (SSC) and Field Leadership, to drive process efficiencies that realize cost savings, store simplifications and improves current state.
  • Governs, monitors and develops effective process improvement initiatives and educates staff on Lean & Six Sigma methodologies to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and subject matter expertise to identify sources of waste and drive productivity.
  • Leads and improves local operations to improve efficiency and ensure optimum store performance.
  • Engages staff at all levels to drive out waste, simplify processes and improve quality that results in improved services and capabilities.
  • Develops operational team leads/staff in improving process efficiencies and formulates recommendations related to the company’s business strategy.
  • Provides staff management and supervision to include: administration of Human Resources policies, hiring/firing, training, coaching, performance management, wage/budget administration, career development, crisis management, and other associated administrative tasks.
  • Position requires ability to travel up to 25%.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10 years experience in process/business improvement.
  • 5 years of management experience.
  • Lean and Six Sigma certifications (Black Belt/Master Black Belt) preferred.


Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to engage in proactive communications regarding process improvement activities and lead all process improvement efforts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with all levels and functions of Aaron’s associates, external partners, vendors, customers, agencies and affiliates.
  • Detail oriented with excellent quality and accuracy.
  • Well organized and results oriented, with demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments of varying complexity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills with ability to easily shift priorities in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
