The Vice President, Traditional Sales will be responsible for sales and profits of the traditional aftermarket, salvage, and export business , managing a sales force consisting of 50 direct contributors and multiple independent agencies. This position leads the direction of all major program groups along with sales initiatives and programs to achieve goals associated to new product placement and competitive opportunities. Strong leadership and professional skills required to lead and motivate the traditional sales team and agency partners to meet and exceed sales and profit objectives.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
- Development and execution of the overall sales, profit and expense plan
- Manage 9 direct reports – 7 Regional Sales Directors and 2 National Sales Managers and a team of 50 contributors
- Drive training and development opportunities for the entire sales force
- Evaluate, develop and execute sales force strategies to best service the customer base
- Manage all Program Groups personally
- Lead major group/customer negotiations and support / approve divisional negotiations
- Develop a working relationship with all Program Groups, WD partners, and other key accounts.
- Implement New Product distribution strategies, maximizing new product penetration/ pull through at all levels.
- Accumulate competitive data for information bank building.
- Timely communication of major events in the field
- Assess the product needs of the WDâs Jobbers and Installers and communicate information to the company
- Representing Dorman and supporting key trade shows, customer shows, and industry events
- Foster strong constructive relationships within the Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product and Operations departments.
- Other activities, projects and goals as directed by the SVP, Sales and Marketing
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Basic computer knowledge in Excel and Word required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Can work well independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment

- Priority setting and project management skills required
- 50% to 60% travel required. Weekend travel required
- Base Location at Company Headquarters preferred
- Timely and regular attendance with flexibility regarding work hours to assure the needs of the business is met
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- University Degree preferred or equivalent business related experience of 10 to 15 years with a progressive and stable record of accomplishment.
- 5-10 years aftermarket experience strongly preferred including Sales experience direct to the WD, Jobber and Installer.
