We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Vice President of People & Strategy who thrives in a fast-paced, high growth hospitality-based environment. The right candidate will be a passionate visionary with an aggressive approach, entrepreneurial mindset, who is a positive/creative thinker, and can build a culture of HR on a national scale to enhance our relentless commitment to service excellence. The VP of People & Strategy will be a true operational partner with our Executive Leadership and Field Management in all areas of Performance Management, Leadership Development, People Strategy, Human Resources, Training, Culture Development and Change Management.
Our Vice President of People & Strategy will focus on:
Performance Management
- Building and implementing processes, tools, and technology infrastructures to drive employee performance.
- Creating and set performance metrics/expectations, while continuing to strengthen the process for evaluating performance.
- Ensuring performance management metrics align with business goals to enable managers and leaders to drive performance and build capability; ensuring top performers are recognized.
Leadership Development
- Collaborating with Executive Leadership succession planning objectives.
- Developing career paths and structured evaluations for each position and facilitating discussions between leadership and associates; ensuring accountability that timelines and deadlines are met.
- Partnering with Managers and Director of Learning & Development to build leadership development / training programs and continually manage progress.
Culture & Change Management
- Taking a cutting edge, technological approach to driving culture throughout the organization.
- Accountability for strategies and deliverables that support organizational design, development, effectiveness, and change management across the business.
- Setting standards of organization-wide communication channels to foster collaboration and involvement.
Human Resources and Compliance
- Ensuring the organization is compliant and provide guidance and direction on any HR-related matters.
- Overseeing employee database (HRIS) and ensuring all proper documentation is received.
- Partnering with the Director of Talent Acquisition to ensure talent objectives are aligned with the organizationâs goals.
- Planning of employee total rewards, benefits, payroll, health and safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree in Human Resources, Management, Organizational Development or Business Administration; Masterâs degree preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred
- 10+ years of related work experience in Human Resources, Strategy, and Performance Management
- Experience effectively leading significant organizational growth from a people perspective
- Must be a hands-on leader willing to implement and continually manage new initiatives on their own
- Multi-unit experience required
- Solid knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment law
- Strong cognitive ability; ability to simplify complex situations; ability to make sound judgments; ability to research and analyze various types of data
- Big picture thinker who anticipates future trends and consequences and creates competitive strategies and plans
- Experience with development and use of change management methodologies and/or models to implement organization change initiatives
- Demonstrated experience consulting with leaders, including identifying needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results/recommendations
- Strong project management experience; ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing L&D, performance management, talent management and HR business partner strategies
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the hospitality industry a plus
