Job Summary/Overview
The VP Brand is a key member of the CMO leadership team and is responsible for leading the strategic vision, direction and management of the TriNet brand and narrative for the company. This leader will thoughtfully lead our brand identity, promise, voice and story, providing creative and strategic mentorship both internally and externally. Specifically, the brand leader will lead the development and implementation of our brand and identity assets, content strategy and assets, design and creative services, sponsorships and events, advertising (print and digital), coordinated campaigns (brand and demand), and customer programs. Additionally, they will champion brand standards and governance, as well as internal brand building activities.

You will shape and drive TriNet’s narrative, storyline and marketing capability; enrich our dialogue with employees, and elevate TriNet’s reputation among like-minded leaders with vision and C-level big thinkers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for crafting, elevating, leading and safeguarding TriNet’s brand image, perception, promise and brand experience
  • Responsible for external brand activations, partnerships and integrations including the development of messaging and advertising
  • Elevate storytelling across all mediums (digital, social, events, other) and through all asset types
  • Enthusiastically develop, manage and refresh all brand assets including: messaging and content, video and motion graphics, identity tools and guidelines
  • Lead a diverse team of design and creative, customer marketing, sponsorships and events, content strategy and assets, and integrated campaign professionals
  • Drive the editorial strategy and campaign development for future brand initiatives and customer engagement / retention activities
  • Partner with and support local sales, partner and alliance efforts
  • Own and improve the branded merchandise program
  • Serve as a brand counselor to the C-suite, our partners and others; responsible for internal brand building activities
  • Lead, train and coach the brand marketing team to provide outstanding service across various departments, while building a positive team culture
  • Grow and update organizational capability and seamlessly integrate brand marketing into each marketing program
  • Stay current with branding and messaging trends, new technology solutions and competitive strategies, translating that knowledge into new ideas for internal partners
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the CMO’s discretion


Job Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or equivalent a plus. Major in business, marketing or related field.

Experience:

  • Requires 15+ years of B2B brand strategy and management, preferably targeting an SMB audience, and preferably in house (not in an agency)
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role, leading a team of direct reports along with brand / creative / advertising / video / event agencies or consultants
  • Broad grasp of brand positioning and creative development
  • Strong understanding of analytics, brand strategy, and research trends; someone who can bring groundbreaking creative campaigns to market
  • Experience overseeing advertising channels, agencies, creative and media budgets
  • Strong leadership, influence, organizational and project management skills
