At FCB Chicago, the SVP, Director of Business Development plays a vital role in leading the new business efforts, collaborating with internal/external partners while continuing to push our strategic offerings to remain competitive. This person will have a comprehensive view of industry trends and will be able to anticipate future needs and opportunities. This leader plays a critical role in building world class insights, driving the strategic direction of pitches while pushing for business solving ideas along with award-worthy creative. As a key collaborator, this person knows how to unite and motivate various departments toward a common goal.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead new business initiatives from partnering with the Global/NA team on prospecting opportunities through helping to cultivate the final pitch story.
  • Align with executive leaders to develop and enforce the agency’s vision and direction
  • Build deep, trusted relationship with senior level clients (CMO, CEO, etc.)
  • Develop an understanding of the potential client business, competitors,
  • challenges/opportunities and how these relate to their strategic business focus/vision
  • Champion the strategic vision and elevate the creative work throughout the entire new
  • business journey
  • Identify opportunities and partners to secure organic and new business growth
  • Nurture and develop talent within both their team and the agency
  • Drive FCB’s culture by actively creating and/or overseeing an agency-wide initiative

Qualifications


Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, advertising or consulting
  • Manages business(es) autonomously
  • Experience influencing and driving strategy, company growth and innovation
  • Develops an external presence in the industry and actively participates/networks in organizations or events
  • Transformative leader who contributes a point of view, exudes a presence and brings a strategic storytelling perspective
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills that encourage team cooperation, promote enthusiasm and motivate relationship building with both external clients and internal partners
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience required
