Alegeus seeks a Scrum Master to join our dedicated, passionate team of professionals. The Scrum Master will report to the Director of Engineering and be responsible for helping our company succeed by expanding functional and technical capabilities in our products lines and meet client and industry growth demands.


MISSION
:

The Scrum Master role is a hands-on position responsible for ensuring the team follows agreed upon agile practices and processes. This includes
  • Removing blockers
  • Establishing an environment where the team can be effective
  • Addressing team dynamics
  • Ensuring a good relationship within the team, including the product owner as well as others outside the team and stakeholders
  • Protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serving and supporting the Product, Development, and QA Teams software development practices
  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to satisfy customers
  • Guiding the team on self organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Remove impediments or guide the team to find the right personnel to remove the impediment
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Facilitate gathering consensus with divergent goals of product expansion, quality, defects and long-term technology stability
  • Limit outside interference and within sprint ‘churn’
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Assist with tracking metrics displaying progress within the department
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog

  • Experienced in facilitation of meetings, retrospectives, etc.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches – Kanban, Scrum
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques – Automated Testing, User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Testing, etc.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and familiarity with other Agile tool sets (such as JIRA).
  • Ability to dig into system requirements and balance speed vs stability
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (ex: Burndown measuring and reporting, handling bugs, etc.)
  • Minimal travel requirements


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is required. Having in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent is desired.
  • First or second level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM, CSP, PSM II)
  • At least two years of experience in the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with an enterprise level Software as a Services (SAAS) product with high standards on application performance and stability
  • Experience working with multiple agile teams
