Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

¡ Responsible for the successful management of the Design Center; including management of personnel, buyer issues, budgets, option margins and frequency etc.

  • With the Senior Designer and NHC Director – Recruit, select, train, manage, and develop associates who establish and execute standard operating procedures for the design center
  • Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and trade partners
  • Responsible for communicating effectively and professionally with other departments to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Maintain a strong customer focus in all areas of the design center
  • Responsible for monitoring budgets, analyzing margins, and maintaining the Design Center schedule

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of design experience required
  • Residential homebuilding experience or experience managing a design center preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience required
  • Experience in working directly with customers, especially in resolving concerns
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design or related field preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to follow, establish, or modify defined business processes
  • Ability to manage different personality types in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Proven track record with developing, coaching, and mentoring direct reports
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
  • Excellent computer proficiency with a particular emphasis in analytics
