Theradex is currently recruiting for a Manager, Reports Development which will be based in Princeton, NJ. The role reports to the VP of Technology and will be responsible for supervising Oracle and Talend Developers.

What you’ll do:

  • Apply detailed knowledge of the source code, data base designs, integrations, and architecture of Theradex proprietary reporting and ETL systems to lead efforts to enhance, support, and maintain these systems to meet the reporting needs of internal users and clients for clinical trial management. Also apply this knowledge to do hands-on development, design, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply extensive experience developing reports with the Izenda BI tool to lead the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards.
  • Apply knowledge of Talend to maintain data integration scripts.
  • Apply detailed knowledge of clinical data and terms used in clinical trials, the clinical trials process, Theradex SOPs, and GCP (Good Clinical Practice) regulations, to ensure compliance.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of developers, providing technical guidance and project management,
  • Apply extensive experience to develop and maintain complex scripts/programs to support data computation, data loading, and data integration. 50% time doing hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development and database and report design.
  • Partner with the managers of IT Infrastructure and Web Development teams to meet IT strategic goals
  • Manage time effectively. Accurately estimate effort for tasks and meet agreed-upon deadlines. Effectively juggle ad-hoc requests and longer-term projects. Identify opportunities for automation, improved efficiency and reuse.
  • Adhere to SOPs for computer system validation and all GCP (Good Clinical Practice) regulations. Respond promptly to requests from Validation/Test team for documentation or bug fixes.
  • Gain knowledge of clinical data and terms used in clinical trials. Have an interest in understanding the science behind clinical drug research.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years experience in the design, development, and maintenance of Theradex proprietary reporting systems and associated data integrations.
  • 4+ years experience of hands-on experience in reports and dashboard development using Izenda.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle including 11g or higher, performing database design, and package, view, function and stored procedure development
  • 2+ years experience with each of the following:
  • Data warehousing/Data Marts
  • ETL (Extract Transform Load) technologies
  • Business Intelligence Tools
  • Data Analysis
  • 4+ years of experience working, communicating and collaborating effectively with internal technical teams, clients, and management within a CRO environment
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to project management of reporting and data integration projects.

Skills and Competencies to be Demonstrated

  • Detailed knowledge of the source code, data base designs, integrations, and architecture of reporting and ETL systems. Theradex proprietary reporting and ETL systems preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of Izenda and Oracle programming
  • Working knowledge of Talend 6.4.
  • Strong working knowledge of programming techniques and system development life cycle processes.
  • Must conduct work activities in compliance with all relevant regulations, ICH, and CFR guidelines as well as all company policies, and procedures.
  • Technical abilities and skills in analysis, design, specification and programming of computer systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Regulatory Guidelines for the use of computer systems in clinical studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage system projects.
  • Ability to research and analyze system requirements, develops alternatives, and implements solutions.
  • Analytical, problem solving and technical skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, with a record of being flexible, accurate, detail-oriented, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills and conflict management skills.
  • Attention to detail with high quality outputs.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a firm knowledge of Oracle database structure and programming.
  • Strong interpersonal/communications/leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
