Juniper Systems is looking for an individual that enjoys solving problems and has a strong knowledge of network systems, servers, databases, and general IT systems. This individual will provide computer networking, individual computing work stations, software, software customization, tele-conferencing systems, telephone systems and related services for individuals, departments, and functions within the company. Since this person will manage the IT team and interact with various employees, this person must be personable and have strong leadership skills.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Presents to management recommendations related to purchasing and installing hardware, software and telecommunication equipment.
- Analyze performance indicators such as number of transactions per second, response time, number of programs being processed to ensure that the IT system is operating efficiently.
- Analyze problems and capabilities to develop solutions for improved operating procedures, alternate processing methods, communications, information flow, management reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Trains personnel in operation of computers, local area network(s), and peripheral and off-line auxiliary equipment.
- Develop, maintain and evaluated usage of telecommunication systems.
- Install and verify operations of new systems and software.
- Assist company personnel in locating and overcoming computer problems.
- Maintain program and input data revisions to maintain IT operations.
- Coordinates the maintenance performed on systems used in multiple departments.
- Coordinates all in-house and out of house file server, e-mail servers, web server, FTP server, and any network base server share by multiple departments.
- Manage outside contractors or inside personnel to locate and correct systems failure.
- Recommends changes in programs, routines, and IT quality control standards.
- Coordinates flow of work between shifts to ensure continuity.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 5 years of experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Have knowledge of the following areas
- Microsoft office applications
- Troubleshooting and repair computer skills
- Knowledge and MS serves and MS exchange server
Working Conditions:
This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, use of hands, and regular reaching. Requires the ability to see.
Normal 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, normal time off for holidays. Weekend and night time work may be required. Travel may be required up to 10 days a year for seminars, training, and exploration of new business software, systems, and technology.
