Position Overview
Tom Steyer 2020 is looking for a Faith Outreach Director responsible for developing state-specific faith outreach plans, building relationships and coalitions across denominations and working in conjunction with the state leadership on implementation. The Faith Outreach Director reports to the State Director. The ideal candidate is dynamic and organized, with the ability to work effectively both with the team and autonomously on various projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement the South Carolina faith outreach plan
- Create a calendar of events specifically for the faith community
- Work with the communications team to develop targeted marketing and communications strategies for the faith community
- Work collaboratively with the political department to expand the state coalition plan
- Attend relevant community meetings, councils, roundtables, and coalitions
- Maintain relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones with community-based, faith-based, and civic organizations
- Support the development of marketing materials, presentations, web content, and other program communication tools
- Coordinate outreach events
- Serve as an ambassador and surrogate of the campaign to the faith community in South Carolina
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Organizing background with at least 1 cycles working in field or faith outreach
- Ability to work autonomously and to work collaboratively with peers.
- Organizational, strategic and analytical skills, ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects while clearly measuring performance and meeting goals and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, writing and presentation abilities) with attention to detail.
- Passionate commitment to progressive politics.
