POSITION PURPOSE/FUNCTION:

The EVP and National Director of NP/PA Services represents the most senior clinical leadership role in SCP for NP/PA services.This position is primarily responsible for deploying, empowering, supporting, and optimizing clinical practices that involve nurse practitioners and physician assistants in SCP-Health clinical settings.To that end, this role ensures that SCP-Health has collaborative, forward-thinking clinical and operational strategies supported by aligned, appropriately resourced, and highly functional systems and processes.

Reporting directly to the Enterprise Chief Medical Officer, this role works with SCP departments and operating teams to design and deploy scalable operational and administrative functions that serve a variety of clinical environments.This role insures that there are clear objectives, effective communications, and actionable reporting on clinical, operational, financial, risk management, and compliance functions related to NP/PA clinical services.

Finally, while this role is primarily focused on the mechanisms required to produce highly effective practices, it also involves a professional, externally-facing industry presence, advocating for beneficial policies that promote high-quality health care in a sustainable environment.


MAJOR DOMAINS of RESPONSIBILITY:

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education ( Required)

  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS)
  • Doctorate of Medical Science (DMSc) or
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Preferred
:

  • Master of Business Administration


Certification:

  • Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA or
  • Nurse Practitioner certification through ANCC, AANP, or AACN


Licensure

  • Current Licensure or State endorsement (with prescribing privileges within states that this may apply) as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.


Previous
Experience:
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a clinical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience in multi-site, multi-state hospital-based, clinical environments is preferred


Preferred
:

  • Experience and proven track record as a business and/or clinical practice administrator
  • Experience and proven track record in a multi-site, multi-state clinical and business environment with both direct and matrixed supervisory roles and accountabilities


Other Special Training/Skills
:

  • Must be knowledgeable with clinical practice standards, NP/PA scope of practice (including national, state, and local medical staff rules and regulations), and practice issues for NP/PA providers

    • Current with clinical practice and clinically proficient, or demonstrates a recent history of same
    • Must be able to set priorities and demonstrate sound judgment in handling issues and problems.
    • Comfortable with affirmative organizational leadership role with a high degree of internal visibility
