Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Manager provides leadership on mitigating human capital risks associated with internal policies and programs, laws, and regulations. Leads a team of Employee Relations Advisors who provide support to managers and employees, with an emphasis on analysis and resolution of complex ER issues, investigations, performance management, and organization changes. The manager works closely with the HR Business Partners and senior leadership in driving effective employee relations activities.
Major Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the employee relations leadership, accountable for the strategy, solutions, and delivery of employee relations activities that drive human capital initiatives and employee engagement.

Provides advice, counseling and guidance to all levels of employees and managers, including executive management, to maintain effective employee relations for a business unit(s), and compliance with established employee relations policies, processes and regulations.

Conducts analyses and research to understand potential risks and the associated drivers of employee related concerns. Interprets results and makes recommendations to address employee related HR issues.

Builds positive relationships across the HR function to bring the employee perspective to relevant strategic human capital initiatives. Maintains good communication and a positive relationship with HR colleagues, managers and employees to promote employee satisfaction and ensures a positive working environment.

Ensures employee relations investigations are timely, objective, thorough, documented and escalated in adherence to company policies, processes and standard methodologies.

Possesses solid knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Contribute to the development, implementation, interpretation and administration of employment related policies and procedures to maintain compliance with employment law. Keeps up to date on legislative updates and changes to employment laws.

Coordinates with legal counsel on assessing and resolving employment related concerns and risks, lawsuit discovery and litigation preparation.

Accountable for the development and growth of the Employee Relations Advisors.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related combination of education and experience

10+ years of employee relations experience
-
5+ years of management experience with demonstrated ability to drive business initiatives, development and growth of a team

Possess strong leadership, outstanding coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to influence outcomes through respectful advocacy, diplomacy, and persuasion

In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations

Project management experience involving concept development through implementation and measurement stages

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to make presentations to small, medium, and large groups.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, interpret information and identify trends.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
