Living Branches community, a community with a 5-star CMS rating, is currently seeking a Director of IT.

The Director of IT will provide leadership to information technology operations for Living Branches. Direct the activities of, and supervise, the IT team to meet the technology needs of the organization. Engage in the development of strategic technology initiatives and oversee the implementation of technology projects. Develop and manage IT operational and capital budgets. Establish and enforce IT policies to protect the integrity and security of all Living Branches’ information systems.

Director of IT Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures an effective organizational infrastructure for IT activities by choosing and implementing information systems that are regarded as standards of best practice and supportive of Living Branches strategic goals.
  • Develops strategic and operational plans for control, management and improvement of IT capabilities and for ensuring divisional alignment with the integrated model of Living Branches.
  • Develops, proposes, implements and monitors the corporate IT strategic plan. Assists in negotiations and provides consultative/advisory services on technology solutions and workflow processes
  • Monitors the security of data and systems. Assures the integrity and reliability of information and communications systems. Develops and monitors plans for organizational systems backup, recovery and risk management. Responsible for development of business continuation plans for use in case of failures, disasters or other disruptions to information systems and services.
  • Ensures consistent Information Technology practices across Living Branches while appropriately customizing each individual department requirements to meet the needs of its clinical and administrative staff, coordinate a collaborative process for the development of policies and procedures related to clinical information management.
  • Develops strategies for maintaining standards of use for health information within the organization and the exchange of health information with external organizations.
  • Prepares department operational budget with minimal supervision, keeping operational expense growth within guidelines.
  • Facilitates design and implementation of software systems and analytical methods to provide meaningful information to support the organization’s objectives and needs.
  • Reviews department performance in relation to established goals, implementing changes to effect continual improvement in services provided; and assures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated experience and strong knowledge of project management principles
