ABOUT THIS ROLE
Our Markets Team is responsible for developing and managing the long-term strategy, relationships, and contracts with our Care Partners and top network providers, as well as assisting in making our insurance product offerings in local markets successful. The Market Success team, led by the VP, Market Strategy & Operations, supports the implementation of our health plans and partnerships in each market, reports and tracks performance of these plans, and develops the infrastructure to enable strategic alignment between Bright Health and our Care Partners and aligned providers.
The Director, Market Success is a critical member of the Market Success team, supporting the management and success of Bright Health’s markets across the country through the development of scaled reporting, processes, and tools. This role develops, implements, and manages scalable solutions in service to Market Management leaders within exist markets. The Market Success team supports problem solving and solutioning across local markets to ensure shared learnings across all our markets, collaborating closely with other Bright Health teams to ensure efficient and effective issue resolution. This role is accountable for supporting national market success and the company’s performance by developing and maintaining our strategy and best practices for launching and advancing Bright’s relationship with our Care Partners, network partners, and providers under value-based contracts.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build Differentiated Market Success Team:
- Build and grow the Market Success team, including internal and client-facing leads
- Influence and inform decisions on recruiting, resource allocations, staffing assignments, and budget needs
- Manage a high-performing team, that includes direct and matrixed staff, by providing clear direction, regular guidance, and impactful coaching
- Set goals for Market Success team that align with department and Bright Health annual goals
- Collaborate with the people managers of matrixed teams on individual performance by providing constructive feedback and identifying growth opportunities
- Inspire and motivate by embodying Bright’s mission and values
- Develop Scalable Processes and Tools:
- Own development of Bright’s suite of ongoing operations governance and tools, including methodologies and resources, governance for driving market performance and coordinating cross-team priorities and issues, and others as appropriate
- Build out playbooks to support the Market Leadership team’s in-market activities, as well as their collaboration with other areas across Bright Health to support local market objectives.
- Support development of and execution of the market reporting process, working collaboratively with teams across the company, to ensure we have actionable market reporting to support business decision and overall performance.
- Manage extension of new products into existing markets, including further refinement of our timelines, processes, and accountabilities as our organization scales.
- Lead and Oversee National and Local Market Campaigns:
- Support the success of our Care Partner, network providers, and aligned practice relationships, including development of internal and external reporting, as well as advancement of our strategic reviews and quarterly meetings.
- Oversee and track market specific growth activities and related campaigns.
- Evaluate and advance campaigns with market leadership to bolster and sustain market performance against Bright benchmarks for care partner success and growth
- Collaborate across Bright Health to Deliver a Cohesive Set of Products and Services:
- Support in-market teams to help identify cross market issues, escalate to the appropriate individuals, and develop scalable solutions in collaboration with our functional areas.
- Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives as an enterprise-wide market success advocate and expert to ensure effectiveness of enterprise-level initiatives and ability for markets and matrixed teams to advance our relationship with our provider partners
- Partner with other functional leaders to drive process improvement across new market preparedness, implementation, and post-launch, including but not limited to contracting, credentialing, provider data management, provider engagement, marketing, sales/distribution, clinical performance, IT/data integration, health plan operations, reporting, finance, and talent
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business or a related field is required
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in Healthcare, leading healthcare operations in health plan, provider, MSO or technology settings is required
- Five (5) or more years direct supervisory experience
- Five (5) or more years of program/project management experience
- Large project and program management and process improvement experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Commercial and Medicare products is preferred
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills with a proven ability to manage multiple people and projects in parallel
- Strong organizational design capabilities with the ability to creatively and strategically structure complex problems
- Ability to effectively engage providers, ranging from single physician practices to regional integrated delivery systems
- Strong teaching and mentorship capabilities to support team members’ personal and professional development
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work responsibilities are performed in an open office setting, carrying out detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Some travel may be required.
