POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director – Business Applications (Dir – Bus Apps) is responsible for assessing and providing operational and administrative business application needs and overseeing the design and implementation of changes/updates within the IT environment. The Dir – Bus Apps must maintain a result driven approach and hold him/herself accountable for results. The results will include effective requirements documentation, project management, roll-outs, changes/upgrades or implementation of IT Business Applications initiatives. The candidate should be highly skilled, and process oriented within a fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Complete oversight of the various business application systems across the Reef Technology enterprise; Navision is currently used as the back office financial system, however functional knowledge of any financial system is acceptable

Liaise with Business Analyst and Project Managers to recommend and oversee changes within business applications to support the needs of the business; daily liaison with an on/offshore technical support team regarding maintenance/support

Identification, development and support of all IT systems and brand specific requirements within each system

In collaboration with the IT security team, implements security protocols/segregation of duties required within the systems

Good working knowledge of PCI and GRC (COBIT, ITIL, ISO27k) frameworks

Management of system consolidations, implementations and upgrade processes

Based on best practice project management procedures, deliver on (small to large) development/maintenance projects, as well as larger project upgrades/implementations

In collaboration with develop teams, develops project schedule and manages to that schedule; prepares strategic plans for projects

Develops project budgets and manpower projections for each project; manages project financial performance

Exercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issues

Oversees both internal and external members of project team

Assist with and determines terms/conditions for software support contract packages

Mentors his/her team and helps nurture the next generation of leadership

Regularly identifies, monitors and evaluates key system metrics to ensure system “health” meets preestablished KPI’s:

Support of the Shared Service ERP and other systems for all areas of Reef Technology.

Recommend interfaces to other systems/use of APIs/Bots to improve customer experience and business processes, and to eliminate manual efforts

Recommend best/good practices related to use, segregation of duties, and security within the various system
-
Manage and identify ways to strengthen existing outsourced vendors to provide enhanced service delivery/support of the various systems at improved pricing

Analyze the costs, benefits and risks of changes in systems to advise management and suggest appropriate actions

Recommendation/delivery of IT controls (either manual or systemic) and policies within the various systems

Properly manage application lifecycles to ensure no business interruption or unplanned down time

Oversee system rollouts to new locations and/or acquisitions and ensure timely integration into the overall environment, based on previously defined milestones during due diligence

Assist the CIO & CTO in developing updates for Board level presentations on accomplishments, requests for funding and results of past projects

Manage IT project budgets to deliver on time and within budget

Ensures the designing, testing, installing and monitoring of IT related projects has been done as per industry standards including development of procedures to ‘hand over’ applications to their owners on delivery

Ensure outsourced providers are continually reviewing
WHO ARE YOU?
-
10-15 years of experience working in technology related fields, with deep functional and hands on experience in a Navision or ERP environment, applications development and security protocols
-
Robust interpersonal and communication skills
-
Understanding of internal controls and developing/implementing control processes
-
Strong customer service focus
-
In-depth knowledge of application design & development, relational databases, Microsoft and/or open source products, networking tools, PCI compliance, SQL servers, databases and utilities

In-depth knowledge of financial and operational business practices
-
Sound knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
-
A disciplined approach with high attention to detail, creativity and innovation
-
Experience in supporting the roll-out and long-term support of complex ERP systems and applications
-
Ability to work under strict timelines and un-supervised
-
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems or Systems Management (or related experience)

An applicable certification is important
