The Director, Advanced Analytics partners with the Commercial Organization to drive and measure performance by providing subject matter expertise, leadership and insights with a primary focus on Reporting, Incentive Compensation, and CRM/DW/MDM. This position reports to the Senior Director, Business Analytics and Sales Operations and is based in Emeryville, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide an objective and rigorous point of view to demand forecasting and product performance while collaborating with other disciplines including Marketing, Sales, Access, and Medical
  • Lead the development of the quarterly Latest Estimates (LE) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) forecasts, and ad-hoc forecasting requests including commercial assessments of in-licensing products.
  • Lead advanced analytics efforts including predictive analytics modeling, marketing mix / ROI optimization and other analytics deliverables to assess and identify near-term growth opportunities for sales team
  • Take active interest in understanding the competitive intelligence landscape and market research to integrate it with high quality forecast models.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to develop forecasting inputs and assumptions.
  • Effectively explain modeling assumptions and triangulate assumptions with other data & forecasting model to pressure test and develop what if scenarios.
  • Perform analyses and assessments in the area of product preference, estimating revenue potential, sales coverage, market size, penetration, marketing practices and trends, and prepare forecasts and recommendations
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as US healthcare laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree required, MBA or equivalent degree is strongly preferred;
  • 6+ years of forecasting or commercial analytics experience, preferably within the Pharma/Biotech industry;
  • Proficiency in reporting and data analytics tools like Excel and Tableau;
  • Experience with 3rd party pharmaceutical data IMS/SHS and specialty pharmacy data;
  • Knowledge of retail claims and Managed care data a plus;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others that achieve desired results;
  • Ability to manage and optimize vendor relationships in an outsourcing model;
  • Flexible, diplomatic and able to effectively deal with ambiguity;
  • Works effectively across functions as a team player;
  • Good understanding of regulatory and legal landscape;
  • Ability to travel as business needs require;
