In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Business Operations & Physician Compensation Director will function as a lead role in developing and supporting Physician employment contracts and compensation arrangements that serve the strategic goals of Marietta HealthCare Physician’s Inc. (MHCPI). This role reports directly to the AVP of Clinic Operations and works collaboratively with MHCPI leadership, finance, legal, HR and recruitment. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business administration or related healthcare discipline required.
  • Master’s degree in human resources, finance, business administration or related healthcare discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of human resources, physician recruitment, finance, or physician practice administration experience.
  • 3-5 years of compensation experience preferred.
  • Pursuant of Master’s degree can be considered in lieu and/or in conjunction with experience.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts and compensation programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to present/speak with finance, operations, legal, recruitment and physician leadership.

Job Functions:
1. Leads development of the physician enterprise annual operating plan and budget.
2. Manage capital expenditures.
3. Manage each department P/L statement with KPIs.
4. Work w/ directors & PMs on transparent KPI variance reports.
5. Works collaboratively with director of finance on physician enterprise financial statements, data analysis for decision making and business analytics.
6. Work collaboratively with revenue cycle leaders on financial and RCM initiatives such as charge reconciliation process, cash collection metrics per site, and RVU/productivity standards for providers.
7. Manage all physician compensation philosophies, plans and education including but not limited to FMV test/opinion & documentation, commercial reasonableness test/opinion & documentation, value based payments, group bonus/quality incentives; develop structure, manage performance & compensation, and communicate regularly & transparently.
8. Contract process.
9. Create business/financial proforma for all new physicians/departments through ramp-up period for new docs.
10. Create and report on physician enterprise staffing productivity tool.
11. Financial Accountability system for practice managers.
12. Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.
13. Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee’s job performance.
14. Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
15. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
