SUMMARY

The Associate Project Manager position is responsible for support in implementing projects into the Creative & Production environment. The responsibilities include partnering with internal departments and external parties to ensure adherence to project expectations. This position supports The Upper Deck Company’s business units by helping Project Managers on all levels of Trading Card projects. Accountabilities include project preparation readiness, tracking and scheduling. Fundamental understanding of print production, resource management and comprehensive communication skills vital to position tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for timely delivery of project specific components and files per Project Manager direction, including working with the initial process schedule. Ensures product workings and files are complete and punctual to delivery dates.
  • Reliably assists Project Managers in managing approval submissions on all elements of a project to appropriate licensor.
  • Responsible for reviewing all licensor changes to product elements; reviews packaging, grids and bluelines.
  • Attend project-focused meetings, as well as additional meetings that may be necessary in order to resolve challenges that arise during the production cycle.
  • Strong organizational, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.
  • Provides feedback during Production Meetings and assists with scheduling from initial file delivery through posting.
  • Adheres to process procedures and pre-established guidelines, ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of production processes and tools.

EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree with an emphasis in Graphic Arts preferred, but not required.
  • 1+ years of experience in project coordination, Prepress, Publishing or relevant duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity of commonly used project management concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Accomplished oral and written communication skills.
  • Prepress, Printing and/or Publishing experience ideal.
  • Knowledge of trading card or trading card game industry is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of basic budgeting.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a dedicated attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with internal parties at all levels.
  • Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising reasonable discretion and independent judgment.
  • Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter with the ability to work additional hours as required.
  • Proficiency in the following software or systems beneficial: MS Office, Project Server and Adobe Acrobat
