The Assistant Director, Career Development provides career development counseling/coaching to 2500+ undergraduate students in the Poole College of Management. The assistant director develops and delivers career and professional development counseling/coaching services that include career and academic major exploration, delivery and interpretation of assessments, resume and job/internship search coaching, and preparation for admission to graduate school. The assistant director will manage and teach the career and professional development course and will also strategically develop programs and initiatives to strengthen Poole studentsâ?? communication skills as it relates to the job search and professional development. Primary duties of the Assistant Director include, but are not limited to: * Plan, develop, and deliver career development/coaching services for undergraduate students; assessing individual career development needs and providing students with the necessary information to make informed career decisions. * Provide leadership of the M120 career and professional development course, including teaching at least one section of the course as needed. Review course evaluations and make adjustments to the course and delivery as needed. * Critique student job/internship search components including resumes, correspondence, and social media profiles and provide actionable feedback. * Critique student interview skills and provide actionable feedback. * Develop programs and initiatives to strengthen studentâ??s communication skills as it relates to job search and professional development, including serving as the primary liaison to ENGL 332 business writing courses and instructors. * Design and deliver career and professional development presentations to classes, student organizations, and special requests. * Administer and interpret individual interest, skills, abilities, and values assessment instruments. * Collaborate with academic advisors to incorporate career development content into early student orientation courses. * Research industry trends, employment opportunities, and salary levels to assist students with making career choices. * Collaborate in the development and delivery of college career events including career fairs, etiquette dinners, panel discussions, employer information sessions, and other collaborative employer events. * Collaborate with the director to develop strategic plans, goals and action items.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in counseling, business administration, student personnel services, or related field. * Ability to create, plan, implement, and manage career programs and initiatives. * Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. * Ability to create and maintain professional networks. * Sensitivity and demonstrated the ability to work with diverse populations. * Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals. * Effective problem solving and organizational skills. * Display creativity, initiative, and positive attitude in carrying out responsibilities. * Ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail, a motivated/enthusiastic work style. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents including students, employers, alumni, faculty, and staff.
