Vice President of Engineering

RoboVent is a leading manufacturer of industrial air filtration products. We make factory environments clean and safe by removing harmful airborne contaminates.

RoboVent has an opening for a Vice President of Engineering in Sterling Height Michigan. In this position you be responsible for the Engineering, Project Management and Installation departments.

The ideal candidate will know and understand the industrial air filtration industry and have specific knowledge of dust, fume and mist collection applications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a member of the senior management team, participate in future business planning, product development and growth strategies.
• Plan, organize, manage and direct the activities of the engineering, project management and installation departments.
• Ensure engineering department meets budgets, schedules and performance requirements.
• Demonstrable experience in mechanical, electrical and controls machine design.
• Drive team member’s technical acumen and adherence to SOPs and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering technology and standards.
• Direct department activities designing new products and modifying existing designs.
• Drive project management and installation team to complete projects on time and track percent of project completion.
• Support company sales and interface with customers on technical designs and concepts. Some field travel may be required.
• Assess team and establish development training to meet high-performance engineering tasks.
• Recruit and evaluate prospective team members for positions within the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Engineering Degree
• Understanding of the dust, fume and mist collection industry
• Command of application sizing parameters, combustible dust issues and industrial ventilation
• Effective communications skills up and down the organization.
• Must have excellent organizational, supervisory, managerial and leadership skills to manage a diverse team of engineers and technical staff.
• Experience in designing air filtration units
• Experience in air filtration turnkey installations
• Minimum of 10-years engineering experience, 5 years of supervisor experience and 5 years of dust collection experience.
• Effective problem-solving skills.

Salary range: $150,000 to $175,000 based on experience with bonus opportunity
