The VP of Clinical Operations will ensure all ambulatory care service line operations at The Wright Center for Community Health are aligned with the mission, strategic objective, and integrated group practice model. The VP of Clinical Operations will direct, supervise and coordinate the overall clinical and business operations for The Wright Center for Community Health. The position will require the development of strong physician relationships and the ability to lead others in initiatives aimed at strengthening market presence, integrating services and practice sites and developing a motivated, high performing team. The VP of Clinical Operations, in close cooperation with the COO and the clinical and administrative leadership of The Wright Center, will participate in developing and implementing improved models of clinical delivery consistent with innovative models of care redesign. The VP of Clinical Operations will be responsible for the successful growth in operations and fiscal strength, and the accurate compliance to laws, regulations, grant requirements, and business protocol.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer. This position supervises Practice Managers and all service line managers including but not limited to: medical, behavioral health, and dental.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for Board Level Data Reporting and addressing corporate compliance
  • Provide oversite and timely functioning of clinical credentialing and privileging processes

PATIENT CARE

  • Ensures effective and efficient delivery of all operational clinical service lines.
  • Incorporates patient perspectives in all business activities.
  • Collaborates on matters pertaining to compliance and the tracking and reporting of quality and patient satisfaction measures. Communicates the priority of quality and patient and family centered care as the foundation of operational excellence.

STAFF

  • Oversee nursing support staff and ancillary clinical services such as but not limited to lab, pharmacy, radiology, social services, Behavioral Health, and Community Health Advisors
  • Set-up, implement, and oversee the school based health operations in Luzerne County and all future locations.
  • Oversee and manage the existing school based health operations including the current manager.
  • As the VP of Clinical Operation, oversee managers of all service lines including but not limited to: medical, dental, and behavioral health.
  • Ensure all clinical venues are adequately staffed and appropriate coverage is obtained for all planned and unplanned leaves.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate managers in the development of policies and procedures which relate to clinical and medical considerations and balanced scorecard metrics.
  • Develops strong physician relationships and possesses the ability to lead others.
  • Recruits and manages department staff.
  • Participates in the planning and providing of staff development and in-service training programs for department staff.
  • Leads employee progress toward achieving the established goals.


INTEGRATION OF WORKFLOW & INFRASTRUCTURE/RESOURCES

  • Work closely with the COO and Clinician Advisory Committee and TWCCH Board to implement, evaluate, and improve all policies and procedures to be compliant with FQLA/FQHC standards.
  • Oversee and reach compliance for all audit site visits per the rules and regulations of the FQLA/FQHC standards.
  • Work closely with the COO and Senior Vice President of Revenue to run and review all reports daily and monthly necessary for compliance with all FQLA/FQHA standards.
  • Defines the overall philosophy and strategic objectives to align with higher organizational mission and purpose.
  • Oversees the budget process for primary care operations to ensure comprehensive accounting of projected revenue and expenses associated with efficient primary care operations.
  • Contributes expertise in operational matters to the development of the organization’s
    strategic plan. Ensures that day to day operations are conducted in full alignment with
    approved plans.
  • Oversees the administrative structure of all clinical operations within The Wright Center to ensure efficient and cost effective contributions.
  • Establishes priorities, schedules task completions and meets deadlines as evidenced by timeliness of reporting data for operations, grant activation and balanced scorecard review.
  • Develops and implements improvements of department methods, systems and procedures and resource agencies.
  • Possesses the ability to organize and manage multiple diverse departments, and effectively motivate, inspire and communicate with individuals and groups.
  • Builds strategic alliances and partnerships within the organization to collaboratively execute business strategies.


COMMUNITY

  • Lead and develop partnerships in the community to provide and respond with access to services.
  • Develops strong networks and business partners by serving on community boards, participating in community activities, representing the organization at outside functions, and promoting charitable work within the community.
  • Networks with physicians, government and community officials, community organization and hospitals for purposes of collaboration and providing partnerships for community projects and/or grant opportunities.

Required Experience


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree preferred; Clinical Degree/Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years management experience required.
  • Strong project management experience required, including the development of detailed implementation plans, and the ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder groups to achieve milestones.
  • Experience in healthcare primary care and service line operations preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to function at a high level of self-direction.
  • Strong Leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to motivate staff toward change.
  • Excellent skills in problem-solving and improvement, leading and coaching others, verbal and written communication.
