As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Retiree Health Solutions business group within US Health Solutions, in Chicago, IL or Virtual. As the Vice President of Carrier Solutions, you will report directly to the Senior Vice President and National Practice Leader.
The Vice President of Carrier Solutions is responsible for leading the carrier strategy, product expansion, business development and solutions efforts for Medicare insurance carriers nationwide. This position has the responsibility for negotiating favorable commission contracts, identify and implement new products that are a fit for our contact centers and bring additional value to our clients and to develop solutions to help insurance carriers solve immerging challenges, including local, regional and nationwide expansion through support of their sales process. This is a critical position that has a prominent seat on the leadership team that reports to the Senior Vice President and National Practice Leader for Aon’s Retiree Health Solutions. This position is also responsible for working closely with leadership across Broking to meet cross functional business development goals. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the national, regional and local environment to identify opportunities. The Vice President works closely with senior management to participate in the development, implementation and execution of business strategies.
Job Responsibilities: Develop our national carrier strategy Identify and onboard prospective insurance carriers that meet Aon’s criteria Negotiate insurance commission contracts that meet Aon’s requirement for “lifetime Value” Develop and implement an ancillary product expansion strategy Develop solutions to solve unmet insurance carrier needs Generate new business with designated insurance carriers Ability to create and build new relationships in the marketplace leading to additional opportunities. Assist in set-up and implementation of new business Develop ongoing sales and marketing strategy to cross-sell to existing clients Be a student of the industry knowledgeable of new products and services as well as Broker practices and trends Be aware of competitors and their initiatives and analyze competitive threats. Prepare executive summaries for client presentations. Working knowledge of CMS regulations Understand and communicate the impacts of the annual updates to the Medicare Marketing Guidelines (MMG) on our Medicare operations Work with the Carrier Management team to develop transferrable selling strategies that synthesizes the knowledge shared in the field and transfer it to the contact centers to improve our close ratios
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years progressive sales experience with an insurance carrier or insurance brokerage Minimum of 5 years developing, implementing and executing business strategy Minimum of 5 years of leadership in the Medicare market Minimum of 5 years leading teams Minimum of 5 years leading complex insurance operations Minimum of 5 years of contract negotiations Experience in leading in within a shared services environment and interfacing to ensure carrier integration Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce.
Preferred Experience: Existing carrier relationships Existing broker relationships Minimum of ten years progressive sales experience with an insurance carrier or insurance brokerage. Minimum of ten years developing, implementing and executing business strategy Minimum of ten years of leadership in the Medicare market Minimum of ten years leading teams Minimum of ten years leading complex insurance operations Minimum of ten years of contract negotiations
Education: Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent years of industry experience.
