Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President, Market Access will be a foundational commercial leader that will contribute to shaping the future of Bigfoot Biomedical as a commercial organization. This individual will be responsible for building the critical market access foundation in which will allow Bigfoot Biomedical to scale. The Vice President, Market Access will be responsible for positioning the value proposition of Bigfoot’s products and services to key stakeholders in health plans and IDNs, which will provide the initial traction, drive adoption, and generate early revenue for the Company as it rolls out its solution in the market. The first priority will be engaging with commercial payers across the US to contract and execute pilot programs in order to build real-world evidence.
The ideal candidate will challenge assumptions and standards of business in an effort to improve the overall access and experience Bigfoot’s customers.

Additionally, the Vice President will partner with key members of the executive team including leaders of Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance, to formulate the long term clinical and economic evidence strategies required to obtain and maintain reimbursement in the US.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the executive management team and other resources to develop executive US market access commercial strategy to drive adoption of Bigfoot’s technology and services to the payer/provider market.
  • Engage with commercial payers and other risk bearing entities to develop initial Pilot programs with Bigfoot.
  • Work with the management team and customers to define metrics for pilot contracts that highlight tangible clinical and financial evidence of Bigfoot’s value which can be used for commercial purposes.
  • Negotiate pilot contracts with customers that can transition to a full commercial roll out, generating revenue for the Company.
  • Manage relationships with pilot accounts to ensure milestones and metrics are achieved.
  • Develop collateral with pilot accounts to position the success of Bigfoot’s programs to the industry through conferences, society meetings, etc.
  • Identify and employ external consultants as needed to gain access/meetings to key stakeholders at commercial payers.
  • Prepare KOL’s and other external consultants to position Bigfoot’s value to commercial payers when market access/commercial leads are excluded from meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Bigfoot regarding the development of value propositions/dossiers, marketing collateral and other materials, and tactics needed to demonstrate the value of the Company’s innovative solutions and gain traction with potential customers.
  • Engage with Health Technology Assessment Agencies to understand and shape evidence requirements to support Bigfoot.
  • Understand, monitor, and keep abreast of trends in market access and reimbursement policies that impact the Company’s products and the competitive landscape.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of healthcare reimbursement environment including coverage, coding, and payment, as well as how to develop, implement, and manage reimbursement programs.
  • Travel as necessary to prospective customers, society meetings, trade shows, etc.

Expertise and Professional Style

  • A successful track record in launching disruptive and innovative technologies and programs to the payer/provider market, calling on stakeholders including the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Innovation Officer, and other executives with commercial payers.
  • Strong and proven relationships with commercial payers with a key understanding of the nuances of selling a disruptive services and technology to this market.
  • A track record developing and managing contracts with commercial payers
  • Expertise developing the ROI for prospective clients and go-to-market strategies for the Company.
  • Experience in marketing breakthrough products and new technologies to effectively drive adoption.
  • A background in a value-based, consulting sales environment.
  • Experience positioning clinical data/studies in support of reimbursement and economic value propositions to societies and commercial payers.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to work at a peer-level with experienced technical and commercial experts in other functions.
  • Strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute, both individually and through leading teams, to achieve operational excellence in the face of challenging goals.
  • Excels in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment where you can make a clear impact.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to work at a peer-level with experienced technical and commercial experts in other functions.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a convincing way to non-technical audiences.

Educational Requirement

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Science, Management, or Health Economics required; MBA preferred.
