This position will have Administrative responsible including day-to-day operations of: Departments of Cardiac Surgery, Division of Cardiology, and oversight of hospital based practices.

Cardiac Surgery:

  • The program performs over 1,000 open heart cases, 1,000 thoracic surgery cases, 300+ structural heart cases
  • The three hospitals include a national leader in heart transplantation at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, an expanding suburban hospital at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and a high quality urban hospital in an emerging NYC suburb at Jersey City Medical Center.

Cardiology

  • At NBIMC, the Division of Cardiology is a collection of hospital based providers and a network of outpatient practices. This Division includes core hospital areas such as the Cath/EP Labs, CV Imaging and Diagnostic Labs, Advanced Heart Failure, and Interventional Cardiology.

Community Based Cardiology Practices:

  • Over 10,000 office visits each ear across six system aligned cardiology practices.

Perioperative Strategy

  • The hospital is undergoing master facility planning phase where over $100M will be invested into the infrastructure of the hospital, including a restructuring of the perioperative space and addition of an additional hybrid OR.


Cardiac Services Responsibilities:

  • Assumes direct responsibility for the operations and management of the cardiac service line operational areas including the Cath and EP Labs, Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiology CV Imaging & Diagnostic Services, Cardiac Surgery, Perfusion, Advanced Heart Failure, and Structural Heart Programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor s degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, clinical or a related field is required.
  • A Master s degree (an MBA/MHA) or related field of study is also required.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible management experience of a cardiovascular product line with emphasis on program development, financial management and performance improvement is required.
  • A strong physician relations and engagement background is required.
  • Experience with developing physician referral and consumer based strategies/initiatives to move cardiology related volume into a delivery system.
  • Experience working collaboratively with marketing/business development to promote the service line with consumers, referring physicians, and partner institutions.
