Overview:
A family-owned cannery specializing in fresh-packing tomatoes and Italian sauces is seeking a Vice President Administration. This position is responsible for protecting the company from potential legal and regulatory non-compliance risks, executive oversight of departments as assigned, and providing strategic input to the Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage/coordinate all legal projects with outside counsel and VPs/Managers to completion in a timely manner.
- Provide an executive business review of all new contracts, providing comments to the President.
- Manage the oversight of all contracts to ensure continuity of operations. Work with VPs to get contract extensions or modifications as required.
- Audit compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Keep informed on all new law changes that could impact the company.
- Responsible for executive oversight of the human resources functions.
- Responsible for executive oversight of main office administration.
- Provide an executive level review of the finance functions.
- Management of the airplane operations.
- Other responsibilities as assigned, particularly during pack season.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree. MBA a plus.
- Minimum 15 years overall business experience with five years in a manufacturing environment. Management experience in agriculture operations and/or food processing a plus.
- Financial background with good business judgement and well-honed analytical skills.
- Experience in high level deal-making/contract negotiations highly desired.
- HR administration and legal administration experience a plus.
- Experience making strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Clearly communicate expectations and hold people accountable. Must exercise a hands-on management style.
- Ability to handle multiple projects/priorities at once.
