    The Transition & Relocation Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and tactical execution of project activities on small or large, complex transition projects.

    The primary responsibilities of this position consist of planning and managing business transition and relocation projects for corporate and government offices primarily in a healthcare environment. This is a lead management position responsible for the overall direction of activities associated with relocation projects ranging in size from 10 to 1,000 people.

    While possessing strong written and oral communication skills, this individual must have the ability to effectively and professionally work with people of various disciplines and levels within a corporate and/or government environment, including: real estate, facility management and IT teams, C-level executives, department heads, administrative assistants, and end-users; as well as the project team, including: construction managers, project managers, architects, engineers, building managers and physical movers.

    TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Transition & Relocation Project Manager typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop overall relocation strategy including a detailed move plan for each department impacted by the relocation to minimize or eliminate disruptions to client’s business operations
    • Coordinate and chair small or large or complex meetings involving multiple outside organizations, such as the Owner, design team and vendors
    • Plan and Execute logistics plans including Staff and Patient Moves for complex healthcare projects.
    • Develop roles and responsibilities for client’s internal team members and external vendors including managing resource requirements
    • Lead and oversee the relocation project team
    • Develop detailed move scope of work
    • Develop communications plan to facilitate decision making and keep client leadership, move team and end-users informed of move plans and activities leading up to and including the physical relocation.
    • Plan and Develop all Transition Communications to include: Move Plans to include phased sequenced plans; Faces to Spaces; Move Guides; Welcome Pamphlets; and Transition Manual
    • Develop and train a network of departmental move coordinators to service as “conduit” between Move Team and end-users
    • Develop overall relocation budget and cost tracking
    • Track and monitor project budget to control project costs
    • Develop relocation schedule including detailed break-down of major tasks, identify occupancy milestones and resources requirements.
    • Develop project contingency plans
    • Develop scopes of work for each subcontracted service associated with the relocation – i.e. physical move vendor, IT support vendor, move supplies etc.
    • Participate in the development of complex databases using Microsoft Excel to track and disseminate end-user move information
    • Plan and Develop a Training Plan for new equipment and systems.
    • Manage movers for relocation executions
    • Plan and Develop the Post activities including Cleanup plans
    • Oversee adherence to contract
    • Manage the disposition of Surplus of furniture, fixtures and equipment through DRMO procedures.
    • Audit move process for best practices, lessons learned and process improvement.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

    • BS or MS degree in logistics or related field Preferred
    • 3-5 years of Relocation & Transition project management experience or Initial Outfitting in a federal government environment,
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Excellent listening skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Construction document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
    • Knowledge of scheduling software, and Access database
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex project teams
    • Ability to quickly gather and understand detailed information about the client company, their industry and business operations; establish good client relationships
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Must have the ability deal with people in all levels of the organization
    • Must be able to present to groups of people (10 – 500)
    • Must be able to provide calm reassurance to client and help them through very stressful phases of projects
    • Leadership abilities to take charge of a project and gain the trust and confidence of the client
    • Excellent time management skills to start and complete multiple layers of tasks concurrently
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Resourcefulness and ability to make sound decisions quickly
    • Solid understanding of current business technology
    • Willingness to work weekends and possibly some holidays

    CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

    PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred. We can also discuss sponsoring you if these are certifications you have been considering for some time and you can deliver.
