- Interfaces with customer personnel during contract negotiations and throughout project execution.
- Supervises and directs the project team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover and warranty of assigned projects.
- Maintains customer satisfaction throughout project execution.
- Must have a working familiarity with diverse groups of trade disciplines.
- Analyses plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements.
- Follows up with appropriate management to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.
- Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the Project Team.
- Monitors progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan.
- Prepares or oversees preparation of project financial reports and utilizes financial monthly forecasting tools and works with other team members to monitor, manage and control costs.
- Oversees preparation of progress billings, pursues timely payments from the customer and authorizes payments to material suppliers and subcontractors.
- Obtains bids and selects reliable subcontractors to provide construction, improvement work or other services.
- Participates in job site final walk-thru and manages the completion of all close-out documentation such as As-Built drawings and system operating instructions; transfers or excess material; billings, collections and payments; and all project records.
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimizes companyâs exposure and risk on project.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 10 years of progressive management experience with energy services and/or large environmental projects.
- Knowledge of principles, practices and acceptable techniques of business development and managing client relationships
- Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including advanced technical writing abilities.
- Identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
- Early identification of possible risks / areas of concern. Identify /develop potential alternatives.
- Keep management advised of potential technical / commercial risks, and client issues (or potential issues)
- Create and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
