Sr. Manager, Mobile Development (Enterprise Products and Platforms)

As a Capital One Technology Lead, you’ll work on our award-winning mobile & web applications, cutting-edge open-source frameworks, and microservices developed at Capital One. You’ll help develop back-end systems, AWS services, and next-generation CICD tooling. You’ll bring solid experience in a mix of emerging and traditional technologies such as: Swift, Java, Kotlin, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, HTML / HTML5, Spring Boot, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure to name a few.


Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate both inspirational people management and disciplined software development leadership.

  • Drive tactical delivery for multiple teams.

  • Working within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.

  • Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of system and determine priority of needs.

  • Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Product Owners, and Agile Leads to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity

  • Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform applications.

  • Design, build, and maintain micro service APIs in an active production environment.

  • Provide functional, technical, and/or process leadership.

  • Continuously improving software engineering practices.

  • Bringing a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.

  • Encouraging innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.

  • Deeply committed to writing testable code leveraging modern testing methodologies and tooling.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 10 years of experience designing, developing and delivering applications

  • At least 6 years of experience leading and developing technical teams

  • At least 5 years experience recruiting and managing people


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing development projects through release cycles

  • At least 5 years of experience working with cross-functional technology teams

  • At least 2 years of experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies

  • At least 2 years of experience with productivity tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Google Suite

  • At least 2 years of experience with AWS and Microservice Architectures
