Axalta operates its business in two operating segments: Performance Coatings and Transportation Coatings, serving four end markets, including: Refinish, Industrial, Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle, across the following four regions: North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Primary Responsibilities

The Raw Material Planning Manager owns and manages the material requirements planning process and mrp planners at Front Royal Site to deliver MRP plans that ensure reliable supply to manufacturing and balance Axalta RM spend and inventory investment goals.
  • Delivers raw material supply plans that enable the detailed production schedule without interruption.
  • Manages local supply issues with vendors to find solutions that enable the schedule
  • Promptly escalates to the appropriate Procurement Category Manager and the Refinish SC Mgr. when a local solution can’t be found with a raw material or service supplier.
  • Leads the multi-functional team during the month-end and quarter-end daily process to meet the EBIT goals of Axalta.
  • Fully understands the mrp planning system and provides the first line escalation support for the mrp planners.
  • Ensures mrp planning master data is properly maintained to facilitate effective mrp plans.
  • Develops and maintains productive and professional relationships with our vendors that reflect Axalta values and promote mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Provides regular and accurate supplier schedules (demand forecasts) over an 18-month horizon to all vendors.
  • Understands agreed supplier business policies (e.g. min. order quantities, quantity cost breaks) and sets up mrp planning data to meet agreed requirements and balance inventory and service goals.
  • Proactively identifies potential supply gaps and takes action to address them before a supply disruption.
  • Works with supply planners and master schedulers to ensure supply for new product launches and to prevent stranded inventory for product sunsets.
  • KPIs: Supplier OTIF, Inventory IDS and DFC, Stock-outs, Stock-lows.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years mrp or supply planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years’ experience with planning systems such as OMP, APO, SAP IBP, Kinaxis, etc.
  • Learns new systems readily and quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and take action to deliver improvement in cost, supply and/or elimination of NVA work.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional areas including manufacturing, SC, procurement, customer service and finance to achieve shared goals
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams during supply shortages and find solutions.
  • Demonstrated and effective people leadership and development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, preferred.
  • ASCM (APICS) CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
