Purpose

Manages the technical and financial aspects for industrial service projects.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to: VP, Industrial Services

Direct Reports: None

Other: Works closely with Resource Managers, Purchasing Manager, Site Supervisor, Field Chemists, Sales Team, HR Department and EHS Department

Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions

Assists in the execution of industrial service projects to serve existing client base and to facilitate growth in the industrial service business unit. Designs and develops written work plans including methodologies for performing industrial service projects, including lab packing, plant closures, waste identification, hazardous waste disposal to facilitate LTL pickups.

Safety

· Develops and maintains a culture focused on employee safety.

· Conducts and/or supports training as appropriate with employees on OSHA and other appropriate safety-related topics. Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory standards for training, physicals and fit for duty testing

· Coordinates with the EHS and Sales Departments to maintain compliance with environmental permitting and reporting requirements.

· Participates in safety committee activities.

· Incorporates safety requirements and procedures into project design and execution.

Project Management

· Attends pre-bid conferences and conducts job walks.

· Performs inventories to enable quoting of lab pack projects.

· Performs online searches for chemical compounds and trade name products.

· Obtains vendor quotes for supplies, materials, equipment, and subcontractors necessary to bid/perform projects.

· Identifies subcontractors to assist in specialty tasks and/or geographic areas.

· Prepares proposal documents and project estimate of costs and proposed bid pricing under the oversight of the Director, Industrial Services.

· Participates in pre-proposal financial review, as required by A&D policies and governance procedures,

· Assists Technical Sales Staff and/or Director, Waste Management, following project award, in obtaining signed proposal documents, contracts and/or purchase orders.

· Provides technical input on project scheduling, materials and manpower staging during the proposal and execution process.

· Ensures that Operations personnel have a clear understanding of client expectations and requirements of the project before execution.

· Provides assistance to Operations during pre-job, mobilization and start-up of projects.

· Serves as on-site Project Manager/Site Supervisor/Project Chemist on a regular basis.

· Weekly on-site management as sub-contractor for other waste providers.

· Field analysis of undetermined waste for analysis.

· Provides all paperwork including profiles, manifests, labels and LDR.

· Monitors project budgets and costs throughout the project.

· All data entry including customer setup, job set up, task assignments, rental agreements and batching for invoice.

· Compiles accurate progress and final invoices in a timely manner.

· Submit all profiles and manifest to both internal and external outlets for review.

· Schedule and manage disposal runs to various waste outlets.

· Provide all cost analysis for PO to Purchasing Manager.

· Source of reference for EPA/DOT/Waste packaging and handling requirements, for both inter-company and clients.

· Other Proposal/Project management duties as assigned by the Director, Waste Management.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or similar discipline and experience.

· 3-5 years of field supervisory experience in waste management services, lab packing, profiling and shipment of waste into hazardous and non-hazardous disposal facilities or similar service business experience.

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.

· Strong communication skills with ability to speak in front of large groups of people.

· Ability to effectively interact with hourly field service personnel, administrative office staff, accounting personnel and A&D management team.

· Ability to successfully complete an OSHA HAZMAT physical examination.

· Ability to successfully complete training course including but not limited to: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, DOT HAZMAT shipping requirements, etc.
