The Project Manager II is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering multiple IT projects within scope, on schedule, and on budget. Leading and managing cross-functional project teams, communicating to senior management and all stakeholders, and ensuring quality controls throughout the project lifecycle are central to this position.

Project Managers operate in a matrixed environment with IT resources allocated to projects via resource managers. The project management methodology is primarily waterfall with phase gate approvals required at each phase (Definition, Design, Development, Testing, Release, and Closure).

  • Be accountable for project results along with project sponsor
  • Work with project sponsor, stakeholders, and resource managers to ensure project scope, budget, and schedules are meeting expected outcomes
  • Estimate project costs and manage the budget
  • Facilitate Work Breakdown Structure development and create detailed schedule
  • Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Collect, manage, and resolve any issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Continually identify, prioritize, and mitigate project risks
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with formal project change requests
  • Demonstrate strong management skills including financial and change management as well as effectively facilitating project meetings
  • Quickly learn and leverage all existing PM and SDLC processes
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to sponsor and team
  • Perform team management, driving motivation, collaboration and performance
  • Manage at risk project priorities (timeline, budget, scope, communications to key stakeholders, etc.)
  • Will report directly to the Manager of the IT Project Management Office
  • Regular attendance is require

Qualifications:

  • College Degree or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Seven years minimum work experience in project management, managing large, enterprise-wide projects with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality
  • Advanced verbal, presentation, and written communication skills are a must
  • Extensive background with project management processes, techniques and tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project a must. Experience with Daptiv PPM a plus
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management
  • Demonstrated leadership managing people and teams including cross-functional project teams comprised of contingent workers and/or virtual resources
  • Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Be able to manage concurrent projects
  • Excellent problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments
  • Be self-assured and become highly attuned to the cultural and political environment within the organization
  • PMP certification is a major asset
  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
  • Must be able to interact well with others
  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
  • Must be able to lift approximately 10-15 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
