Purpose of Position

The Project Manager supports operational activities within the Financial Shared Services Center of Excellence within the Office of the Controller.


Essential Functions

  • Plan and project manage all operational tasks and responsibilities which includes payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and travel & expense reimbursements.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions which would minimize manual transactions.
  • Serve as a liaison between UT System and the 14 institutions to provide guidance and share best practices in the area of financial shared services.
  • Works closely with the Director of Financial Shared Services to identify business process improvements, workloads, and general project management.
  • Gain understanding of all business processes to work towards becoming the subject matter expert.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with 5-8 years of related experience required. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills required. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform non-routine work with changing priorities is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management experience and leadership experience in a university setting preferred. Substantial administrative experience in client centered environments along with some experience in program administration strongly preferred. Knowledge of SIS database management or similar relational database system strongly preferred.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Requires occasional evening or weekend hours

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
