Position Summary

Project Manager will manage overall coordination of IT applications development projects in addition to projects in IT Infrastructure, from planning through implementation.

Essential Tasks

Responsible for setting project scope, priorities, deadlines and deliverable schedules as well as facilitating discussions and consensus among various project stakeholders, such as analysts, applications programmers and clients. Manage and monitor project budgets and expenditures.

  • Oversee the overall planning, direction, execution, control and completion of assigned projects.
  • Help define each project’s scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and manage the project lifecycle and software development lifecycle for those projects.
  • Develop detailed work plans, including work breakdown structures, project milestones, risk assessment / management plans, staffing needs and project timelines.
  • Identify, schedule and assign project activities, tasks and milestones.
  • Actively monitor, track and manage project tasks, timelines, attainment of milestones and overall quality of project activities and deliverables.
  • Ensure project delivery framework tasks, activities and deliverables are represented and accounted for in project plans and timelines.
  • Provide direction and support to team members.
  • Manage communications with the team, as well as stakeholders and business and IT management.
  • Communicate team responsibilities, target dates, project status and resource needs.
  • Establish and provide weekly status and project updates.
  • Work closely with business analysts to define and refine project scope, business and functional requirements.
  • Implement and facilitate change management within assigned projects.
  • Drive decision-making as it relates to project activities.
  • Identify, document, escalate and address risks and issues.

Education & Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field required. Project management certificate a plus.
  • A background in applications development is preferred and five or more years of experience managing complex projects.
  • 8+ years overall IT experience with extensive hands on experience in project management.
  • Experience with both traditional Waterfall software development processes and Agile / Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Office, Windows OS and WMS(warehouse Mgmt Systems), prefer JDA, Highjump or Softeon WMS
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects (including governance, BI and infrastructure), activities and tasks under time constraints.
  • Ability to communicate project scope, status and issues with corporate executives and stakeholders.
  • Supply Chain experience (Retail and/or Wholesale).
  • Financial tracking and reporting of project expenses.
  • Experience managing projects with a variety of technologies, platforms and development languages
  • Experience developing and implementing best practices
  • Ability to communicate, influence, mentor and build teamwork that fosters a collaborative and continually improving environment.
