Job Description

We are looking for an experienced PMP certified Project Manager to support program-level projects as part of the PMO for a Federal Climate-Related Agency.

General Requirements

  • MS Project experience, including demonstrable knowledge of activity dependencies, critical path, lead/lag times and status reporting
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to management
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Comfortable seeking advice and assistance when needed
  • Ability to accomplish a task with little direction and guidance
  • Positive attitude, self-starter, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • 3+ years of project management support experience (ideally with a focus in the following areas Scope/Integration Management, Schedule Management, Risk Management, Quality Management, and Stakeholder/Communications/Resource Management)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your knowledge of analytical tools and techniques used to effectively plan and communicate project status to executive level stakeholder
  • Effectively interface with all project stakeholders; develop, review, and assess project estimates; collect and analyze project performance data
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
  • Identify and exploit opportunities for business process improvement
  • Prepare agendas and minutes of senior-level meetings or other documentation that captures decisions made
  • Assist with documenting meeting notes, tracking meeting actions, and writing status report
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and archived appropriately
  • Provide support to the PMO in the areas of (Scope/Integration Management, Schedule Management, Risk Management, Quality Management, and Stakeholder/Communications/Resource Management)
  • Support the PMO governance methodology and enforce project standards
  • Develop and manage project schedules based on high-level milestones
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
