Overview

This role reports to the Principal Audit Manager for COO Americas in the U.S. region – who in turn reports to the Global Chief Auditor for COO. You will work with management and staff within Group Audit to deliver audits of the COO landscape and Utilities covered by the global COO Audit team. You will also provide subject matter expert (SME) support for colleagues in other audit teams with coverage of operational processes, as part of ‘front-to-back’ audit reviews.

Your Role

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to Operations (various topics to include Payments, Client Onboarding, Loan Operations, Collateral Management, Sanctions & Embargoes) and the related risks in accordance with Group Audit methodology and the established risk assessment framework
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments on Operational processes covering the Operations landscape and ongoing monitoring of such Utilities for the U.S. region and globally as assigned
  • Lead and participate in audit assignments (to include planning, fieldwork and reporting), draft audit issues for review by audit management, assist in preparation of audit report with Principal Audit Manager, conduct tracking of audit findings and validate closure of audit findings in accordance with Group Audit Methodology
  • Participate in meetings with business auditors and provide input for business led (‘front to back’) audits and Provide ongoing training and mentoring of Associates and Analysts as part of the COO team development
  • Develop and maintain broad subject matter knowledge & experience. Stay abreast of business/industry changes and their effect on the team’s audit plan, audit methodology and risk assessments
  • Pro-actively develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, the business and respective support areas. Work in an integrated manner with fellow team members both locally and globally

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and professional certification (e.g., CIA, CFE, etc.) preferred
  • Extensive experience in an internal Audit role covering Compliance & Regulatory topics or extensive first/second line Compliance/Regulatory experience
  • Strong understanding of Operations activities and the related risks and controls within that area as well as from upstream processes
  • Ability to identify and evaluate risks within the control environment. Sound judgment on the impact of issues raised
