Rakuten Ready is seeking a Head of Marketing Operations. In this role (currently an individual contributor), you will be responsible for transforming our marketing automation practice, including managing our marketing tech stack, execution for demand gen/nurture programs, driving growth of our marketing database, and optimizing our marketing automation campaigns through measurement and results of campaigns.

The ideal candidate is passionate about marketing automation, email marketing, analytics, and driving measurable results at a large-scale. As an expert with data and technology, the candidate will launch, optimize, and scale marketing campaigns to drive awareness and adoption across the portfolio of Curbside products. This candidate is a bold, multi-faceted and innovative marketing leader who keeps the rest of the Marketing organization accountable to meeting their KPIs. This person thinks strategically, analytically, and creatively, and thrives in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to plan marketing automation campaigns with Sales and Marketing teams (in collaboration with Content Marketing), including providing best practices and recommendations on content, audience, cadence, and marketing systems and tools to execute a successful campaign
  • Own strategy and execution of demand gen and nurture marketing campaigns, end-to-end, including planning, targeting, set-up, testing, execution, reporting and optimization
  • Own our marketing automation tech stack, including business rules, subscription management, template libraries, segmentation, workflows, scoring and reporting
  • Define processes and QA procedures to ensure flawless delivery of campaigns
  • Develop a learning agenda (split testing, frequency, sequencing, CTAs) for continuous optimization of KPIs and campaign success rates
  • Document best practices and communicate improvements to increase the marketing team’s ability to deliver marketing programs efficiently and effectively

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of marketing experience
  • Experience working within email marketing, marketing automation, and demand generation
  • Knowledge of email marketing, including the building and optimizing of campaigns and knowledge of best practices, limitations, strategies, and industry standards for emails
  • Deep experience with Marketo and Salesforce
  • Knowledge of email legislation (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL)
  • Experience working with marketers and executing campaigns across regions
  • Experience improving internal processes
  • Experience using data to inform and influence action for the entire Marketing organization – keeping the team abreast of all metrics each business unit needs to deliver KPIs
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with proven expertise in problem solving
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively and being accountable
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a great attention to detail
  • Self-starter, ability to thrive in a fast paced, start-up environment
