Do you have a passion for corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and environment? As a Director, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, you will create and drive Coupa’s CSR practices. This role has an opportunity to do the following: 1) Establish Coupa as a Leader in Environmental and Social Impact, 2) Ensure each Customer’s Spend is Spent Sustainably, and 3) Empower the Coupa Community to be Sustainable Together.

Compliance:
- Determine what CSR measurements are relevant to Coupa and what we can control and manage.
- Lead Coupa’s CSR reporting practices including things such as: public disclosures of CSR/ESG data and Coupa’s comprehensive CSR reporting.
- Oversee and lead annual data collection and strategic completion of applications and disclosures for relevant business rankings.
- Collaborate closely with Investor Relations to stay abreast of corporate and IR priorities for CSR. You will oversee the regular review and correction, of Coupa data summarized by CSR firms and rating agencies.
- Managing certifications such as Fair Trade Certified Mark, Organic certification and B Corporation
Efficiency:
- Identify and enact ways to achieve efficiencies that will save corporate dollars, such as cutting energy and water use or reducing waste generation and carbon emissions.
- Make changes that improve the company’s bottom line.
- Protect or enhance the company’s reputation in the CSR arena.
Innovation:
- Integrate sustainability into the core of the business in ways that transform the company.
- Look at how we can leverage Coupa’s product, customers, suppliers, employee, our broader community to address and solve larger problems in society, including climate change, water management, and obesity
Culture:
- Communicating work done on sustainability both inside and outside the organization
- Establishing internal process for calculating organizational Carbon footprint and building plans for reducing it
- Circular economy – Waste Management, recycling and supply-chain management and building a plan towards supporting these
- Volunteer to work on recycling projects or green teams and help create a culture of CSR within the company.
The ideal candidate brings:
- 10+ years of experience in CSR, in a publicly held company
- Passion, energy, and commitment to CSR, sustainability, and EHS.
- Degree in environment management or related field and environmental certifications, a plus.
- Strong ability to understand/analyze external drivers, set strategic priorities, and drive creative and effective strategies to achieve corporate objectives.
- Proven leadership skills; the ability to inspire, build consensus, and work collaboratively across all functions and at all levels of a global organization.
- Excellent communicator and presenter, with experience presenting to Senior Leadership and Boards of Directors.
