Automotive Training Director

JOB SUMMARY
This position provides support and direct supervision to a group of Hyundai Motor America (HMA) In-Dealership Trainers. Must have the ability to manage and counsel people and ensure program guidelines are met. Maintains communication with central office and HMA Regional personnel. Maintains product knowledge and conducts in-dealership training at assigned dealerships. Reports to Training Director and provides area status updates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and develop client relationships and implement new business opportunities/projects

Provide overall Program management and oversight
-
Facilitate, source and direct support of special initiatives/launch events
-
Coordinate program staffing and hiring activities, and develop and administer disciplinary actions as needed

Monitor and direct overall performance/professional development of associates
-
Monitor/coordinate/approve budget and salary administration/actions
-
Support, monitor and direct support staff efforts including project management, content development, third party vendors and deliverables

Collaborate with corporate leadership
-
Act as resource and role model to Trainers

Disseminate product, process and procedural updates to team
-
Monitor Trainer performance for quality control

Conduct annual performance reviews and Trainer observations
-
Provide coaching/counseling to Trainers on program, standards, behavior, attendance and professionalism

Address performance issues following GP/Sandy standards, including developing and delivering performance improvement plans

Perform employee separations as needed

Support training of new hires

Support GP policies and procedures and HR administration

Oversee staff schedules and vacation requests, as well as special assignment requests

Provide updates and maintain communication with Director and client as needed

Develop and maintain relationship with HMA regional personnel

Assist with coordination and planning of Trainer meetings

Work with Account Team and Director to coordinate supporting launch events

Possess a sense of urgency in completing tasks

Assist with interviewing and hiring of Trainers

Handle personnel and business matters with confidentiality

Approve team’s expense reports and time cards in timely manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum 5 years Trainer experience

Ability to lead and work as part of a team and provide clear direction to Trainers

Strong knowledge of In-Dealership Training (IDT) program standards and procedures

Demonstrated leadership skills

Management or supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge of all HMA products

Proven administrative skills and demonstrated knowledge of systems including Deltek, ASAP, Hyundai Learning Portal and HyundaiSalesTraining.com

Bachelor’s degree preferred
